Keep my 700 or sell it and Get a 600?

A friend wants my PRS 700; he really likes the built in light, and is willing to buy me a new PRS 600. I like the idea of the built in dictionary but I dont really use the notes or other features that much. I have used the built in light on my 700 but most of the time I really don't need it. Is it an upgrade for me? Would you do it?

I believe the consensus is that the 600 is a step up. I read comments from 700 owners who dislike not having the built in light. Are you able to check out a 600 in person?

Yeah, I have played with it in the store, and I think it would be fine. Looks nice, maybe a little more contrast on the screen? But I really have no problems reading my 700 at all.
I guess I just want to think I am getting a good deal.

If you do decide to sell the 700, don't get a 600. Get a nice shiny new 900.

I agree with JSwolf. Ask your friend if it's ok if you add the difference to the 900. As for the light, I would just get a good clip on. In terms of dictionaries and firmware upgrade, I wouldn't hold my breath. I've been waiting for a year for an update for the 505. By the time I bought mine (when it was introduced in Germany), I think the reader was on the market in the rest of the world for about 2 years. And so far, there was only 1 update. And even that did only fix compatibility issues with certain formats (or so, I believe) and didn't add new functionality. Why would Sony do this? Just to keep one going with an older device while they could also sell you a new one if you really want a specific feature?

Battery is replaceable in the 900

You also get a charger and cover with it.

I'm not sure what the battery life is like yet, because I've only fully charged it once over three weeks ago. Since then, connecting via USB to move content on has kept the battery topped up despite a lot of use. The approx. two weeks claim is looking credible so far.
