DigitalDolf's recommendations

Hi. I think it's easier to start a thread of the books that I've read and am reading, and update it on a regular basis. I will start off with recent books but might add books that I've read in the past that are available as e-books.
Books by writers from English speaking countries I normally read in English.
Books by authors from non-English speaking countries I normally read in Dutch with the exception of books from German authors which I sometimes read in German.

22-02-2010: Just finished the second part of Stieg Larsson's Milennium trilogy: "the girl who played with fire". I really enjoyed it even though the "Lisbeth Salander" character is becoming more and more of a comic book hero.
I love the fact that there's a nice build-up in the story. People who are more into action thrillers where the action starts on page one and keeps on going to the end, will probably not like his books very much.

Now reading: "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society" by Mary Ann Shaffer & Annie Barrows.
Mary Ann Shaffer is the writer but she wasn't well enough to finish it after the publisher had asked her to change a few things. Her niece Annie Barrows helped her to rewrite those bits and finish the book.
It is an absolute brilliant book that reminds me a lot of 84 Charing Cross road by Helene Hanff. Both of them are novels in letter/correspondence form and deal with the love of books. I'm reading it in a paper version from the library but it's available as an e-book as well.
Both my partner and myself like this book so much that I actually ordered the paper version with Amazon so we have it to reread.
