Pdf to Mobi/Epub Format Problem.

Hi all

I'm testing Calibre and I find it a must-have application.

But... here's the issue.

The pdf conversion to mobi or epub (natively supported by my kindle2 int.) messes up the text format.

This is the PDF (justified)

Cento storie del Giro d’Italia. Una sorta di doveroso omaggio e piacevole
contributo ad una celebrazione importante, il Giro del Centenario. Una lunga serie di
racconti e di ricordi, quasi a voler ribadire che non si tratta soltanto di una corsa in
bicicletta, seppur la più popolare.

this is what i get (mobi or epub)

Cento storie del Giro d’Italia. Una sorta di doveroso omaggio
e piacevole

racconti e di ricordi,
quasi a voler ribadire che non si tratta soltanto di una corsa in

Is there a way to fix it?

Hi db,

I am not 100% sure but had a very similar problem and managed to resolve it by going to the "preferences->Conversion->PDF Input" tab and adjusting the "Line Un-Wrapping Factor" to be .25 instead of 0 would totally resolve my problem. The values for it are supposed to be between 0.0 and 1.0, but I don't really understand it more than that.

just tried your hint and it works. perfectly. the format of the paragraph is now justified.

I've been fighting with pdf to epub conversion for days. Your tip may have just saved me from a trip to the hospital. Thanks a bunch Tapar!!

Tapar, you're a star. You've just solved my pdf to mobi problem too!

My pdf text went from:

The quick, red fox jumped over the lazy dog.
The lazy dog yawned and walked away.

to mobi format of:

The quick, red fox
jumped over the lazy dog.

The lazy dog yawned and
walked away.

Changing the Line-Unwrapping Factor in PDF input from 0.0 to 0.25 solved the problem beautifully.
