computer freeze?

Hello all, glad to have found this forum, so much helpful info.

I found that if I connect my Sony PRS-600 to my computer before I
turn it on, that as the computer is booting up, it will occasionally freeze. I found that if I wait until the computer has finished booting up and then connect my e reader to it, the software is more responsive.

Has anyone else noticed this? If so, please accept my apologies for posting this. Recently I downloaded an ebook from my public library online, most all of them are adobe pdf, and for the first time, I couldn't open it on the ereader. But luckily thanks to someone else's informative post, I re-downloaded the same book and could read the book. I then deleted the old file, just in case.

I believe that you are supposed to turn the prs-600 on BEFORE you plug it into the PC with the USB cable. I am sure I have read this in the manual.

Edit to also say that I wouldn't attach any of my ereading devices to my PC while it is booting up - the pc has a lot to do while booting up and giving it any other jobs to handle at this point is bound to cause some issues like the ones you're having.

I agree with poshm. The Sony computer software is so temperamental as-is that I wouldn't even try to use it until my computer was up and running.
