I've softrooted my Nook. Is there any way to search by the tags that I've created in Calibre? Thanks.

I believe you can search by tags with the nookLibrary app included in the softroot package. However, it's rather painful because you're scrolling through a list that gets rather long as you add more books to your nook. Another issue with the nookLibrary app, it sorts author by first name instead of using the sort order information included in the epub files.

I think the nook needs a library app that is tree based. For example, sort by author figures out how to split up A-Z, then under author, be able to select by tag or series, as well as by title. Likewise, if selecting by tag, figure out how to split up the tags, and then search by author or title. If you only have a few books on your reader, it's no big deal, but if you've got hundreds (or thousands) of books on your reader, the built-in library app and the nookLibrary app just don't cut it.

I cannot get my softrooted nook to sort by tags. For some reason it is only recognizing a couple of my books. I've tagged all of them using Calibre library, but when I upload to the nook, the tags are either being lost or Nook simply doesn't recognize. Tried re-boot, scanning folders, deleting and re-download. Going nuts here!

I am also trying to sort with my soft rooted nook. Is there a way to delete some of the "extra" tags that I have to scroll through on my nook to use the tags I want for organizing?

I think the extry tags you don't want to use, you have to delete in calibre. If you tag your new books from the beginning with less tags as possible, it will be pretty easy. I usualy tag them only with a genre tag. So that messes not up my search function with tons of tags.

Is there a way to list all of your tags in the nooklibrary app? I can search tags using the search function, but I only see a way to list by title, author, and most recent. Am I missing something??

Is your Nook softrooted? If yes, you have to use e.g. My Books and scroll down to Show! Not to search. If you tap on Show, you can select the tag you would like to see. Usually all your tags show up there. If you select one of these tags only these books will show up on your e-ink screen.

If your Nook is not softrooted, you have not much possibilities to search at the moment.

I still can't get tags to work properly. All of my books have been tagged, but less than 1/4 of them show up in the "show" folder. I'm starting to think it has something to do with the format?

I open them with Calibre, download covers, correct authors, add the tags. Then send them back to the Nook.

But it's strange that books downloaded from B&N all remain hidden. And several others.

I figure someone will come up with solution soon.

Ths.
