Have some books been taken off of Mobileread?
I accidently formated an sd card that I had some .lrf books on for my Sony reader. I thought I had downloaded those books here; however when I look for them they are no longer there. For example Charles M. Sheldon's "In his Steps" Have some books been removed lately, or am I getting confused?

There have certainly been no deletions done by the moderating team. Of course, the poster of a book is free to remove it at any time, and we have no control over that, or knowledge of it.
