My first ebook reader
After researching for a few hours I think the best e reader for me is the prs 505, but I'm unable to find it anywhere. If I can't get the 505, what should I get instead? I was thinking about a kindle 2, but I want to be able to put ebooks that aren't bought through amazon on it. Could I get some suggestions?

You can get a 505 on the "flea market" forum here at mobileread. The 505 is no longer being manufactured. The PRS-600 took its place.
The PRS-300/600, Pocketbook 360..... there are several good options. Actually go to this link http://www.frys.com/product/5432609 you will see they are out of stock. I had to replace my 505 a couple months ago and I found it on ebay. Try there.
