How long does it take?

How long does it take for iRex to ship a product?

I ordered mine on Aug 1st and even today it still says "Order comfirmed, processing"

Its been 8 days since i ordered and they havent even shipped the product!
Is this normal? I'm Order #1145 and shipping destination is Canada.

Does everybody experienced the delay in shipping or it's just me?

I cant wait to get my hands on it!

Have a look at the order update thread (which has slipped to page 2), it will ease your sense of loneliness.

I think they somehow stopped shipping around order-number 919 (that is the last order-number I see in the WIKI-iLiad-Owner list, that is confirmed to be shipped out), as from the WIKI, since August 2, there was no shipping activity anymore :-)

Perhaps they first produced a batch of around 1000 devices and are now waiting for a second batch... (this could also be inline, if you now look at the iLiad-order page, they now state, that the device comes with version 2.5 pre-installed, instead of 2.4, as it was for earlier devices...)

Hope this new shipment arrives soon, and iRex starts sending them out quickly :-)

Thumbs down

I guess kusmi may be right. The bad thing about this is, that Irex does not give any informations to their customers about the expected remaining time.

We have ordered the Illiad fur business evaluation. So far their customer service really sucks. (see also the threads about broken devices and their support).

If I remember, they do say 3-5 weeks for delivery somewhere. As long as that hasn't been exceeded, I don't think they really need to say more.

You are right: Then don't NEED to say more. But it would be a good business habit to keep the customer informed.

Our evalutation sheet for the Illiad product has different categories (Hardware, software, service, update policy, etc), so far Irex has accumulated several "-" in the category "Customer Service and Support".

Serious evaluation of a product which is known not finished yet? For me it seems that the evaluator may get a "-" in this category ;-)

It was announced to be ready in spring 2006. Thats another "-" for Irex, delays delays delays.

Maybe they ordered just 1000 units for the first batch...it makes sense.

But how long does it take to get the 2nd batch in? Hope that they dont exceed the 3-5 weeks, which is already waaay to much time for a shippment.

And we must not forget: iRex is a new company and they have to work out a lot of problems. I dont think PR is first on their list right now.

While I agree that they've stated 3-5 weeks for delivery.
That these are pretty close to beta units at full cost.
And that maybe they only had an initial run of 1000 units
and are awaiting a new batch.

I do have a problem with them charging my credit card and
still not shipping after a week or more. I'm used to
online vendors only charging my card when they're ready
to ship.

Order 1067.
07/25/2006 Order not comfirmed
07/25/2006 Order comfirmed, processing

Yeah, it is obnoxious. Unfortunately, however they may adjust in the future, that's what they're doing right now. The only alternative I see is to wait 'till they have their "official" launch, and order then. Perhaps they'll have their house in better order at that time. (shrug)
