jetbook problem

Hi

I received a hand-me-down jetbook recently and haven't really used it at all. I charged the battery overnight as instructed then I used it for less than an half hour. Then I noticed a battery icon on the upper right that was blank with three vertical lines. So I tried to recharge it and now nothing. Only a grren light at the top.
Any thoughts?

I thought my Hanvon needed charging, as the battery indicator is opposite to my other devices... It shows blank/white when fully charged and black when battery is empty.

Thank you for your ideas. As it turned out my daughter reset it and it seems OK now.
