I'm now a Kindle!

I have to say I'm mesmerized by the display, and happy with the feel in my hands.

My first download was an accident, when I tried to show my wife a sample of the Host and accidentally downloaded it.

Trying to figure what my first book will be. My first choice was Last Words by George Carlin, but the library has it on hold, so I'm not going to spend the money. THought about the latest Bob Lee Swagger novel, I SNiper, but Amazon is showing it for $14.00.

Decisions, decisions.

Accidental downloads are easy to do.......if it should happen again, use the "call me" feature, they'll call you right back, explain to the nice person what happened, and they'll refund and take the book off your kindle.

I know this because.......

I'm trying to avoid the accidental download by buying only on the computer. I leave the Kindle wireless off, buy books from my computer. I'll either hookup via usb drive and download the book to the computer then to the Kindle or cut the wireless on for a bit and go to 'manage my Kindle' and have it wirelessly downloaded after purchase.

I'm sure at some point though, I'll experiment with it and accidentally download.

Okay... It is rapidly becoming apparent that we must now talk of cabbages and kings...

See, it is completely UNnatural to *become* a Kindle - even a K2 or DX. No, you're supposed to BUY the Kindle - and then read on it.

Please, teach your children well, that reading's swell but that you can't get by by becoming a Kindle!

I'm a bit surprised by this, but in the 10 months I have had a Kindle 2 and then a KDX I have not once accidentally downloaded a book. I don't know what I'm doing differently, but it has not been a problem for me.

Congrats for becoming a kindle! It's a joyous but often traumatic experience. Not necessary so accidental downloads.

That George Carlin book is great, I listened to it as an audiobook from audible.

Congrats on the Kindle, you've discovered how easy it is to buy books, so be careful!
