Sony PRS-505 Power Off

Hello,
I just purchased a Sony PRS-505 after returning a PRS-600 and wondered if it had the auto power off feature I thought the PRS-600 had if you leave it untouched for 24 hours. Is this the case? Also, is the only way to fully power off the unit to go into the settings?

The 505 has an option to auto shut off after 1 hour if there is no activity. I believe this can be found in the settings.

As far as manually powering off the 505, the only way, other than through settings, was to install the PRS Customizer hack and perform this function by holding down the center joypad button for 5 seconds. Otherwise, sliding the power switch will put the 505 into standby mode.

The 600 will shut down if you slide and hold the power switch for more than (from memory) 5 seconds. Does this not work on the 505?

Holding the slider does not seem to do anything on my 505, which seemed strange to me. I saw the auto sleep option (which was one by default), but do not see anything about an auto shutdown. Where is this option?

I don't think there is any auto shut down on the prs 505. I once left it for a few weeks on sleep mode and afterwards it wouldn't turn back on, the battery had run dry. Which means, it never shut down on its own.
And holding the slider definitely doesn't work. It's a very welcome 600 innovation.

I looked around in the menus and the only power option I could find is auto power save which is just sleep mode I believe. There doesn't seem to be any option for actual turning off the device after a certain amount of time as passed.

Ah, sorry, I misunderstood - you're correct, there isn't anything more than that on the 505.
