Problems with "gray" text

Hello all,
i'm a new owner of a prs-600 and i have an annoying problem.
PDF's text is gray instead of black...when i move up and down in "zooming" i see a darker text...and then after a refresh the text return to gray.

Anyone?
Any solutions?

It get's darker when panning because it uses 1-bit mode when panning with a refresh rate of 260 milliseconds (no greyscale, just black & white), Normal rendering in greyscale requires 740 ms to refresh.

Since your text is grey, you'll need to change the pdf so that the text is black.

Regards,
Thank you for the answer,
the problem is not exactly what you thought because my text on PC is black but on the reader seems gray. I've tried steps in your link and i obtain a PDF with only black and white but on the reader the "one bit mode" is still darker then text in normal mode. So i think the reader still cosider the text NOT black...but gray....noone of you find the text unreadeble because of this low contrast ?

I think I see what you mean. When I pan the text of one of my pdf files in zoom mode, the font does contain more black in 1-bit mode than when rendered properly. I think perhaps the 1-bit mode renders the grey pixels in black

I find the default fonts used very smooth and easy to read, but I read mostly epub-books in the medium font-size and only use pdf's for having some manuals handy for various devices. Try reading with slightly more light, and see if it helps.

Explanation grey pixels:

(The PRS-600 uses FreeType)
