How good is Sony Clie TH55 for ebook reading?

...because I might be able to get one cheap, and if i do get one, i will use it primarily for reading ebooks.

How good is the screen for reading texts? what about battery life?

Also, will it be possible to integrate dictionary function to the ebook reader program?
(can i just highlight the word, and find the definition automatically or something like that?)

Hi,

I enjoy using mine for reading.

Especially if you install 2 programs called Fonts4os5 and Fontsmoother and it makes for a nice experience.

Hi,

I imagine it would depend on the program being used.

I use Isilo and get a few hours and that is with the autscroll on before it gets down to about 50% and I want to stop.

I usually only read for about 20 minutes to a half hour at a stretch so it is hard to pin down the time but the above sounds right.

Hello luag,

congratulations on your TH55, I think it's an excellent device. As summer is not too far away you should know that you can turn on/off the backlight of the device by holding down the power button for a few seconds. It helps reading content in bright daylight when the backlight is turned off (but I still think the olf T425 was still better readable).

I liked the Mobipocket Reader for my TH55. That is until they brought the new version out (Mobipocket Reader Pro is now free), which somehow is not working very well with my TH55 now. The old one was great, the new one is crashing my device when I close the Info window and the buttons on the back are not working anymore. The latest realease might have fixed a few problem, but I haven't tried that one yet.
