New to the Jetbook

Hello all. I have purchased the Jetbook for my 10 year old daughter for Christmas and would like some help from you. I understand that the Jetbook does not currently support DRM ebooks. After browsing around here I also understand that ePub and Mobi appear to be the most popular formats for the Jetbook. What I am having a hard time is finding stores that offer clear information as to what they have and if they sell non-DRM ebooks.

My daughter is nuts over the Warriors series by Erin Hunter as well as the Redwall series by Brian Jacques. Needless to say she has followed in my foot steps with a true love for Fantasy and Sci-Fi. If I can't find the above authors books in non-DRM formats, which I haven't, can any/all of you point me to places to find good age appropriate Fantasy and Sci-Fi that will work with the Jetbook?

Thank you in advance and I look forward to your help.

The DRM support is supposed to be coming ("in December", so soon). ECTACO jetBook-Lite product page says:
Quote:
Support of DRM format through Barnes & Nobles
I initially took this to mean eReader, but now I'm not so sure and the similar Aluratek Libre just got Adobe DE support.

In the mean time, your best bet for contemporary DRM-free ebooks is FictionWise. Their MultiFormat ebooks are DRM-free, and they have a Young Adult category that includes the two series you mentioned (but, as you say, only with DRM). See also Wiki: Dealers and Publishers without DRM, which includes in particular Baen and Smashwords.

Thank you for the great info. I would normally browse the forums for months learning about the Jetbook before asking what probably is a very well worn question, but with Christmas looming I want to have some good reads on the Jetbook for my daughter!

Thanks again.

I have a jetBook and I mostly buy from Fictionwise in eReader format then format shift to HTML. Only takes a couple of minutes and works great on the jetBook.

For SciFi and Fantasy try http://www.baen.com/library/ for DRM-Free and some completely free ebooks. You may have to research for age-appropriate, but they do list by author, series, and book titles.
