I live in UK and I was just just about to start cooking Sunday Roast for the evening when I found this site so will pop back later to view this site in more depth. I have only just registered

Toss that roast into the oven or a slow cooker and let it tend itself while you take the time to check our our site. There are three major areas here:

The forums which you've obviously found are the places where there's something going on all the time. We have quite a few (maybe even LOTS by now) members from the UK who are regular participants and if you have any questions about the availability of e-Book readers or the electronic books themselves, you'll find some helpful advice.
The wiki holds lots of information on book readers, sellers, books, resources, and everything you could possibly want to know. If you haven't bought a reader, yet, you may want to take a look at the e-Book Reader Matrix.
The e-Book repository. Volunteers post e-Books in various formats (those books free of copyright or released under a creative commons license). Feel free to download as many as you'd like.

We're so glad to have new people arrive and join in the discussions. As you'll find, some are serious and some are not -- we do know how to have fun! Welcome to MobileRead.

Thanks for the welcome. But I really only have one question to ask it's the old legal one again. My late father-in-law was an author and I came across a couple of his books as an e-book's . He has not been dead (the easiest way to put for the 70 years yet) No one asked for any living relatives permission to put these books on the web. Should permission be sought before books are placed on the web in this way. I was really shocked to see them this week and wonder if/who would be profiting from this. In short is it legal .
