where can see the version of firmware on device?

and btw whats the number of the latest greatest one.

At any of the Library (Book) Listings, press the Menu key
select "About"

To see the firmware revision information:
1) Exit the book you currently have open (press the <- "cancel/exit" button).
2) At the directory/bookshelf view (which is where you should now be), press Menu/OK.
3) Press 6 "Settings".
4) Press 4 "About".

The latest firmware version from Astak (ie, the 'official' firmware release) is dated "09/10/2009" (Sept 10 of this year), and can be downloaded from:
http://theezreader.com/html/support_firmware.asp

The latest firmware version from Jinke (the manufacturer of the Astak Pocket Pro) is dated Oct 19, 2009, and can be downloaded from:
http://www.jinke.com.cn/Compagesql/E.../update_v5.asp

However, the internet connection to that server may be VERY slow. So I've uploaded a copy of it to my U.S. server at:
http://www.kaser.com/ebooks.html

The other difference is that the first time you burn the rom you will need to switch from Chinese to English on the menu. After that there is no difference and of course you can replace the start up screen if you wish.
