Question Added a Memory Card and now I have duplicates

I have a new PRS-600 and purchased one book from eBooks to start. Everything was going well until I purchased a Memory Stick to put audio on.

I got the audio onto the stick just fine but now I have a copy of the Book on the Memory Stick and the Library as well so 2 copies are now on the reader of course.

I deleted everything and re downloaded the book and the same thing happened. I'm not sure where I'm going wrong.

1. Is there a detailed manual somewhere? (other than searching on the ebook Library) I'd love a step by step "How to" I could print out and reference.

2. Somewhere on this board someone mentioned the auto sync doesn't work well. Have I Auto synced and then duplicated the book by pressing sync now?

3. Could someone give me a Syncing 101 because I think that's where the confusion lies.

Just an update: I unchecked the Books option on the Sync option for the media card and that has taken the duplicates out of my reader.
I had intended to use the media card for storing books. Colour me confused.

IMO, the handling of the memory card is NOT seamless. In a good system, the memory card and the built in memory would be seamless.

I've moved my books to Calibre software and so far so good. No duplicates but I still have to figure out how to put books on the card.

Monitor battery usage with the memory card in before you get too involved with putting books on the memory card.

With both my 500 and also my 700 there was significant decrease in battery life with the memory cards.

Instead of just clicking the 'send to device button', right click over the item that you want to send across. You'll see that there's a sub menu, which lets you send the book to not only the main memory, but also to the memory stick (storage card A) or SD slot (storage card B).

David - that's an excellent point. I've only put music on there so far .... I'll be aware of my recharging capabilities before going whole hog. I was thinking that I could use the memory stick as a storage device for books ( and still can but maybe not 'read' off of them) to relieve my laptop of the 'weight'. I'll look into that.

reech - I saw that submenu but it didn't 'click' in my mind what it really meant. Got it.
