Free Book - The Ruins of Gorlan

The Ruins of Gorlan, by John Flanagan, is Book One of the Ranger's Apprentice series. This series is geared towards middle school to high school age kids, but isn't a bad read for adults who enjoy straight fantasy.

There are two small catches to the free book. First, you have to sign up for the Australian Ranger's Apprentice newsletter; your download link will be sent to the email address used and be sure to pick "outside Australia" for your location. The second, though, impacts where you can read the book. It's a DRM'd ePub, which means it requires Adobe Digital Editions to both download and read (or you should be able to read it on a newer Sony Reader).

However, one is not required to give the actual information that describes you (in fact, I make sure to describe Dr Drib in all mine, as he likes these so much; this one was missing the spot to click on "grumpy over free offers"

).

Any email address will work, so long as you can pick up the email for "confirmation", which is where you get the link for the book. You can also immediate opt out after getting the first newsletter, if you used an account where you get anything but spam (I thought this was what a yahoo email account was for, as I never get any real mail there).
