EPUB 5" vs 3"

Just a heads up, I have a V3 & V5 reader with the two latest firmware updates from the Astak site. Both firmwares advertise that EPUB hyperlinks are supported.

I tested both readers with the same EPUB book. Well the V5 DOES and the V3 DOESN'T support EPUB hyperlinks. So I went to looking for the problem.

What I found was that for the V3 firmware, the site dates it 09/16/2009 but the actual file after it is unzipped is 09/14/2009. So I thought that maybe, just maybe, someone had zipped up the wrong file. So I called Astak, and called and called...

But I finally got through and spoke to a real sweet rep named Amy. I explained to her my situation and what I had found. She put me on hold and checked with their gurus (Robertb ?), and came back and said that they were aware of the dates being different and that the V3 version did not support all EPUB types. I pointed out that I had used the same file to test both machines, which she didn't have an answer for.

Bottom line: They are aware of the issue and are still waiting on a solution, which will be posted eventually. So we can all just sit back and hurry up and wait...
