My new PRS-600

Hey guys,

There might be another thread about this, but from what I saw, it contained a bunch of tech-speak that I just couldn't understand. I am a total noob when it comes to this thing.

I just got a PRS-600 a few days ago. It's my first ebook reader. Since I got it, I've been looking around the web for hacks and what not, but I'm guessing nothing's happened in that arena yet (I'm supposing the device is still pretty new).

I would really love to be able to get a clock on the status bar, so you can view the time while still reading (though I'm guessing that would have a significant effect on battery life, since it would have to re-draw the screen every time the clock changed).

Is anyone aware of any kind of customizations for this thing, or am I stuck with it in it's stock state (which wouldn't be the worst thing ever, it does rule regardless)?

ephewe--No clock for the 600 yet...and from what I've read here, there might not be. It seems that Sony has built some encryption into the 600, making it difficult to hack into.

I used PRSCustomizer, and the clock doesn't effect the battery life at all. It only refreshes when you turn the page. It would be super-annoying if the page refreshed while in the middle of reading.

You did that on a PRS-600? Or are you just referring to my battery life comment, based on your experience with another reader model?

I did it on a 505. I was just responding to the battery life comment.
