prs 505 problem

Not sure if I should be posting here but I'm tearing my hair out! I've downloaded some books from Gutenberg and others and some of them don't appear to have any content - they just show first and last page as page 1 in contents. I've noticed in eBook library their icons have a little tick or something in the bottom right corners. I can't delete them from the reader and when I try to sync with the library, it just gets stuck for hours - with an x symbol in the status column. I can easily move the books that came with the cd to and from the reader, but not these downloads. Am, I being totally dumb? Is something wrong with my reader? I can't find any reference to these type of problems anywhere.

This isn't the right forum - there is a 505 forum.

But - what format are the books in?

I had that problem with some free epub classics I got from BoB - I think we finally figured out the books were all one large flow and the reader couldn't handle it.
