little bit more than 2 I think it is 6 or 7 and you have to remove internal cover but it is pretty easy anyway

Any chance you can do a write up on this? With photos along the way? Would be great as a diy guide for when the time comes.

Ups, sorry I changed the links in my post to point to direct files but it seams it's not working that way, it should work again right now.

I don't have a photo with internal cover, it was just pretty boring dismantling PRS-600 is pretty self explanatory first you need to unscrew two screws at the back of the unit remove cover and than unscrew 4 or 5 screws to remove internal cover than the final small screw that is holding the battery. I can edit one of the pictures to show you where are those screws holding internal cover but you will see it anyway if you open the device

Do you have any information on the battery such as capacity?

Thanks.

It's printed on the battery and can be clearly seen in the 2nd pic.

3.1Wh at 3.7V equals 838mAh, which is reasonable for a battery that size.
