Palm Treo 700w launches on January 5th, 2006

I hope these rumors are true, simply because I'm tired of reading them. According to a screenshot posted on HowardForums, the Palm Treo 700w is expected to launch on January 5th, 2006 through B2B and possibly online stores. Retail launch is expected to be on January 10th. Rumored pricing:

with a 1yr contract - $549.99
with a 2yrs contract - $499.99
without a contract - $619.99

I'm sure the timing is deliberate. This gives stores a chance to clear out existing inventory (i.e. the 650) with special holiday deals. Also, I don't think Palm would be able to keep up with the demand.

Speaking of the Treo. I'm looking at a 2yr subscription (monthly €25) for €200 with no entry fees. Good deal? I've decided I want a smartphone. (My 5yr old phone is dying, so I need a replacement anyway.)
