Snow Leopard Reports In

Hi,

I installed Mac's new Snow Leopard operating system today and I ran into a few bugs.

One, when I open the application I will get a "your program shut down unexpectedly error window". The window has the usual variety of buttons, report, retry etc. If I hit retry the program then opens normally.

If, I then change to another application without quitting Calibre, when I try to get back by using the program icon on the task bar, the menu will change to Calibre, but no window. I have to quit Calibre from the menu and then restart, in order to see the window again.

Other than that, at this point, no other issues to report.

There is another thread about Calibre and SL. Mine starts up also but hell, try to view a book using calibre's book viewer. No dice. I knew that it did not work on SL before I installed it but oh well. I am patient

the last build is actually more stable, though some random crash remains.
The good news is that I am finally able to convert books using caliblre on snow leopard, although it crashes right after the conversion.

The previous build used to crash right after the launch, you was never able to see any windows.

A good improvement then :-)

Keep up the good work, and you will get another donation when a fully stable snow leopard build comes up!

Snow leopard has been nothing but problems for me here and I am extremely sorry I upgraded. I wish I had seen this thread about Cailbre sooner as it would have stopped me -- and I wouldn't have hit even worse problems with Apple's own Mail program that is requiring multiple hours of tech support as they try to figure out their own software. Apple's never before released System Software I would call a potluck beta before but this is it.

What build do you mean is working for you? I thought I had the most recent and mine crashes constantly.

6.10 is working with serious crash issues.
Not reliable for a massive work, but it is ok to insert or convert some book every day.
Just keep on launching the app, after 3 or 4 crashes it become more stable (for a few minutes) :-)
