Dictionary Not Working

I just received my PRS-600 yesterday, and I'm really pleased with it. The screen is very easy to read -- I'm not having a glare problem that some people are complaining about. And navigation is extremely easy.

However, although it's a feature I won't use that much, the dictionary look-up feature stopped working today. Any time I tap on a word, I get a circle with a horizontal slash (a sort of "no" symbol I suppose in the status line at the bottom of the screen. Previously the dictionary definition would appear at the bottom of the screen. I've reset/rebooted the device and it didn't fix the problem.

Anybody else have this problem or know of a solution? Thanks!

[UPDATE: I solved the problem by downloading and reading the user guide. D'oh. You have to double tap the word . . . A moderator can delete this post if he/she wants, unless, of course, the idea is to continue to display the post as evidence of my, er, violation of RTM.]

I don't have a 600 yet and don't know if the dictionary only works with certain book formats. What format is the book in that you are trying to use the dictionary?

It was EPUB from Gutenberg. But the problem was that I wasn't double-tapping the word, I was just tapping it once. D'oh.

Do anyone is having problem with Battery life of Sony PRS600. Mine had given 4 days with 300 pages on reading. I charged initially with USB charger for 4-5 hours and the battery level was showing full when I have disconnected the same from the charger. While I was not reading, I have switched off the reader.

Am I doing anything wrong ( this is my frist ebook reader, so no rpior experience)?

What works for USB charging is run eBook Library, plug in the Reader, wait for eBook Library to recognize the Reader. When that is done, minimize the Reader. When the red light on the Reader goes out, restore the eBook Library screen and click the eject button next to where it shows Reader in the left pane. Then when it ejects the Reader, unplug the USB cable from the Reader.

That should be all you need to do.

Do you or did you see a volume icon button on the bottom right of the screen while you were reading? If so then it's possible that you had mp3's playing while you were reading and didn't realise it because you didn't have headphones hooked up. I did this a few times with my 700. You may have opened the audio files by accident, hit play, then went to your book thinking you closed it, but it was still playing in the background.
