Not my first post, but hello anyway.

Hi Everybody,

This is (as the subject suggests) not my first post, but I figured I'd put up a little introduction before I continue onward further.

I'm Aaron, I live in Aloha, Oregon (just SW of Portland a few miles out). I don't yet own an eReader, but It's next on my list of gadgets to buy. I'm planning on getting a PRS-505, unless I'm terribly impressed by the recently announced PRS-600, which I don't expect to be. I expect mostly read fiction, and occasionally non-fiction books. I've recently enjoyed reading "Little Brother" and "His Robot Girlfriend" on my computer, which is something I never thought I would do. I look forward to a bit more portability with the reader. (I have an iPhone, but I don't find I enjoy reading much on it.)

Browsing through the threads, I see how touchy of a topic DRM, piracy, and distribution can be here. These kinds of discussions are right up my alley, and I look forward to participating in them.

Anyway, I'm glad there's a forum here with lots of participants. I look forward to being a part of the community.

Hi sircastor and welcome to MobileRead. I've had a 505 since Jan 2008 and really like it. And I haven't seen anything about either the 300 or the 600 that makes me think I'd switch.

Welcome sircastor!
I have the PRS-700 and I love it, love the touchscreen, love the design and portability! It seems that the new 600 has everything I've dreamed of my reader having (dictionary and handwritten note-taking), so I'm so tempted to trade-up for the 600. The light is a nice feature, but I don't use it as much as I thought I would. The best thing is that you'll have so many places to give the devices a try, with them coming to Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy etc.! Nothing like having one in your hands to help you make that all important decision!
Again-- welcome to MobileRead! There is an abundance of help & advice & free (nicely formatted!) ebooks to download, to be found here, as well as plenty of fun! Good luck on your choice and keep us posted!
