Angry difficulty in signing in on kindle and this website
When I sign in with my password on the Kindle I get a message that it is incorrect. When I try to change my password, I get an air message error 500. What is going on?

Sounds like you are trying to use the "experimental" browser in the Kindle to access MobileRead. Have you tried the "mobile" interface at http://www.mobileread.mobi/ ? It's simplified and may be easier to access through the Kindle.

I downloaded the guide for kindles on my kindle and that is what I use to find books to download.However when I use this guide it asks you to sign in which I do but the password that I used to sign up constantly doesn't seem to work ,although I have changed it several times. If I find books on the computer thru the website ,can I just connect my Kindle with a USB device and download it that way?

Yes, you can download the books to your computer first.

But I am surprised you are asked to sign in when you try to download an e-book through the Kindle guide. Normally, you shouldn't need to sign in. Can someone with a Kindle device help us out here?
