I think you posted this message in another thread... but I will answer it here.

The 700 is discontinued. It had an intregal light integrated between a 2 layer screen. This extra layer really diffused a lot of light and took a lot of clarity away from the screen. The 600 removes the integral light and that extra screen layer. However, the layer that makes the touch screen work still obscures that clarity, but not as much. The 505 and 300 do look a bit better.

Well, it depends on what you mean. How often when reading a book do you turn more than one page at a time. But, yes, the 600 and 700 have the "fast forward" type page turn feature. The 505/300 do not have that.

Pretty much every ebook reader has a go to page type feature. Also most books will have a table of contents that will also help with navigation as will book marking.

The 505 has a limited "fast forward;" holding down the page turn button for a few seconds will flip forward or back by 10 pages at a time.

I find it an entirely useless feature. The option of turning to a specific page is easier and more controllable. (Type in numbers; hit "enter." Simple & obvious, unlike holding a button for an indeterminate time.)

don't forget if you know the specific page you want to go to, you can enter it in the 505 and it will flip to that page.

Extreme slowness? It's well under a second; how fast can you turn the page of a paper book?

The PRS-600 is much faster, due to a faster CPU and a more advanced screen controller.

It is plenty fast enough to read. By the time your eye gets back to the top of the page and focuses the new page is rendered.

Exactly. OP, it doesn't make sense to choose based on speed of page turns. All the e-ink devices give a solid reading experience. The 505 has direct page access (type page number in and press 'enter') and the 10-page-at-a-time jumps by holding the fwd/back button. I'm not sure exactly how it works on the 600 but I'm sure it's similar. If you want a Reader with slightly better contrast, longer battery life and simpler interface, go with the 505. If you want a dictionary or note-taking, the 600 would be your choice.
