Greetings all
I'm a new Sony 505 user , but long time ebook fan from days days with the original Palm Pilot

I'm also a devot Mac fan so bought the Sony product to use on the mac just to spite Sony really.

Already a big fan of Calibre - already a big problem with UK ebook publishers & sellers.

Welcome to MobileRead, Chris!

I have the Sony 700 and absolutely love it. There was a recent anouncement here that the Sony Ebook Library software is finally Mac compatible. I love Calibre, too, but it doesn't support annotations yet, so I still use the Sony software. Be sure to check out all the free ebooks you can download here at MR in the lrf format!

Looking forward to checking out all the content here & getting involved!

I have the silver 505 from play.com in the UK (£149) not a bad price I think. Have just got the sony lighted cover delivered as well. It's a nice case but the screen cover is too opaque for me - the Sony needs better contrast.

Necessary for reading in bed though.

UK ebook sellers do have a disadvantage with VAT, but even so their prices are usually much too high.

I buy mostly from Baen and Fictionwise. Having a US delivery address on my paypal account has proved very useful with Fictionwise.
