Which ebook store has the largest amount of content?

Well, I just recently got my first ebook Reader but I quickly found out that the Sony eBook library software is crap. It offers a lot of books but right now I am trying to get a hold of "3 Para" by Patrick Bishop which I cant find in Sony's ebook store or in the Adobe store. I find it on Amazon though..

Are there other online ebook stores which offer a good amount of content? As I understand it, I cant download kindle books from Amazon and use them on my Sony reader?

Kind Regards

Only? Only? There are hundreds of other ebook retailers out there. I agree that fictionwise has a large range, but even there I don't know that they are the largest.

A google search "3 para bishop ebook" gave waterstones as the top hit http://www.waterstones.com/waterston...do?sku=6612596 should be it.

Google is your friend.

I find most of the "crap" I need on the eBook store, and where exactly is this "Adobe store" you mention?

I'm sure there are smaller ebook retailers out there, but that doesn't mean that they will have the book.

I don't really browse eretailers all that much so I don't know.

Is there any secured format in FictionWise that works with Sony? I notice that FictionWise is often brought up as a good source for e-books but I have also noticed there selection of multi-format books is very limited.

If there is a secure format that can be used with the Sony I would very much appreciate knowing? I also use Calibre if that is helpful?

If you leave the DRM in place, then only Adobe ebooks (PDFs) will work. FictionWise does not have the best selection of PDFs, and Books on Board is probably a better choice because it has a good selection and also has secure Adobe ePubs which work better than PDFs on your PRS-700.

If you are willing to strip the DRM, then MicroSoft LIT (you need a Windows PC) is a good choice, but MOBI and eReader are also ok. Once the DRM has been removed, Calibre can format shift to ePub or LRF (and to MOBI for your Kindle).

You totally forgot to say that PDFs will give a nasty reading experience and that ePub from BooksOnBoard are best.

They have DRM'd PDF's that will work, but last time I checked they hadn't added any books in that format since January '08. While PDF is generally considered the least desirable of the three DRM'd formats the Sony will work with it does work. As Jon mentioned Books On Board carries the ePub format which most feel is superior to PDF.

I don't see it on Amazon as an ebook, only as an import pbook.

Being it's an import on Amazon I checked WH Smith in the UK and they have it in ePub format...

I tried a MOBI stripper written in Python but was not able to determine the PID of my device. Is there a good product available through the web?

I checked out Books on Board and they appear to be a good option - thanks for the tip.

I have also had some success with Diesel Books using their Adobe formats,

If you have a Windows PC, use the PID from Windows Desktop MobiPocket Reader.

I will download MobiPocket reader and continue my experiment. Previously, I was trying to find the PID for my Kindle.
