Honk if....

you are emotionally attached to your reader!!

HAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWNKKKKKKKKK

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWNKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK !

I realized this morning that I have read so many good books on Sanchy (my prs) and shared laughs, horrors and anger with her, that I don't think I could ever bare having to replace her one day. With pbooks its the same thing but the bond forms with the story and you put it away in your library along with the good times shared.

am I the only one who feels like this? am I insane in the meninges?

side note: currently rereading "Discworld #2" and boy do I <3 that Luggage!

Alpha, You NAMED your reader?!?!

I absolutely love my reader and would be devestated if something happened to it. Does that constitute an emotional attachment?

Ditto! I left mine this morning, and feel like I'm wearing 2 different shoes or something. I just know something is missing, you know, that little nagging feeling that follows you around all day long, wondering "What was I supposed to remember?..."

I'm back on Discworld also. Barely started The Wyrd Sisters.

I am attached to my 505, but it's nothing like the emotional ties I had to my old EBW1150. The 505 is a friend, but the EBW1150 was family. The EBW1150 has a personality, with it's handhold and big buttons and that ugly turd-brown color. It's the mutt you choose at the dog pound and love it forever.

My sony is like the *blankie* that she figured I would sneak to school with and actually had to line my jacket pockets with before I would head off to kindergarden. Its the must have now like lipstick and earrings. So I guess I'm as bad as most well maybe not as I haven't named (her) yet

Oooo ... the blankie is a great analogy!!! My family had to move out of state in order to separate me from my beloved blankie!!

The only difference is that I don't jam my thumb in my mouth while reading my Kindle.

PS: I'm about half way through the Discworld books at this point.

PPS: Would some kind people please give me some karma and push me over the 30,000 mark?? The suspense is killing me.

Thank you.

I don't think id even want to replace mine with any other one either... sigh...unconditional and unrequited loove....

Kaz,
you haven't named your reader? you named your kids no?
I do have a habit of naming everything in my life since i was a kid.
I have a collection of mini cactuses (10+) all of em have names. I even lost (rotted) two and I keep their teeny pots with a lil sign with their names so the others can mourn... lol...

Thats exactly how I feel. I feel like I am developing a bond with Sanchy that will end up just like you and your EBW. how long did you EBW last?

I had the same mental image! I also love the blankie analogy! you should let MR vote on what your reader's name should be!

@ Ricky: I did not read that one since i read them all out of order a lOOONg time ago, ( that's why I am starting in order now.) I forgot how much this author makes me snicker and/or shake my head... =D
p.s. it does not let me add Karma to you, saying I already did today (which i don't think I did)... i smell mod conspiracy...
