After my EB1150 died 2 weeks ago, I decided it was time to try an eInk device.
I found out that the PRS-505 is cheaper than it used to be and I bought a grey one on eBay.
My first impression is very good. I miss the on-line dictionary I had on the EB1150, but this little wonder is very nice and friendly.

Good move Wordcrasher. I've had a 505 for over a year and a half and really like it.

Congrats on your new purchase Woodcrasher! I've had my 505 for about 15 months now. Don't know how I survived without it!

Congratulations, Wordcrasher and welcome to the Sony side....

I've had the 505 (*BLUE*) since December and love it. I still haven't learned everything or used everything on it yet.. PRS Customizer, download library books, Calibre metadata and organization, etc..

Color choice aside, glad you got the 505 and like it, Wordcrasher!

If you didn't already notice, there's a lot of rivalry between 505 owners regarding the color choice. Don't worry, you can probably get a skin to make yours look like the proper Blue color.

Welcome aboard!

I sold my EB1150 after I got the Sony 500, and haven't looked back. I didn't actually use the dictionary feature but I can see how that would be missed.

Truth!

Plot and character development seems much better on the blue ones.

I agree -- silver is the right color for a Sony reader. But I might swing for a green one if I go for another brand.
