Red face

It is possible that the financially troubled Salon.com magazine doesn't survive this month. Reason is the drastic decline in advertising revenues.

Why can't Salon.com make it on ad dollars? Editor David Talbot says on the site: "... consider this stark fact: Approximately 80 percent of the ad dollars on the Web are funneled to the top 20 sites, all of which are run by corporate giants. The result is there's not much left over for independent publishers like Salon."

That is scary. I hope that other online publishers are doing better than Salon

What do you think?

Been awhile since I browse thru here. Read the plead from Salon.com. Admittedly , never really read and compared their content journalistically with the simple, free news available elsewhere. But after just reading one article, I can see that they have a case to stay in business. So, I say they'll stay in business. Now, if only I can commit myself to subscribe since I have this bad habit of subscribing, but never fully utilizing my entitlements
