Hi, I have been viewing this forum for weeks and I finally decided to sign up today. From what I can see, this is a great site. I have my kindle for at least a couple months and love it. It really does make my life so much easier when it comes to reading.

I'm from Rockford initially, but now a transplant to Mount Morris, a small, but lovely, town SW of Rockford! We've got lots of members from Illinois and the number is climbing!

Cool. I've pretty much have stayed around the suburbs. Grew up most of my life in Lansing Illinois which is right next to Indiana.

Let me guess..... humm.... you are very into Star Trek??

I have the Sony 505 and just can't imagine what I would do without it. I have a feeling you feel the same about your Kindle.

Yeah I like star trek. I used to simm (RPG) online. More like, I was addicted. That addiction has gone away and now I write articles online. Sometimes its about star trek and sometimes it is about something else.

I do love my kindle though and I love that I can make the text bigger which is a plus for me because I don't have the best eyes.

Growing up, I used to read a lot. Obviously, I will read star trek. I never had that many, but I can read more now when I need a new book. I'll read Danielle Steel and nora Roberts. So right now, all of those I want to concentrate on, but I will usually switch off between the different authors unless I am working on a book that is in a series. I did find a couple books of Nora's that are not available for the kindle yet. I have the paper copy, but would rather read it on the kindle.

I have already published a book of poems for the kindle and I do plan on finishing up the novel I am writing this summer I hope and then publish it on the kindle.
