There, I gave you some Karma.

Your karma 'giving' increases with the number of posts you make.

You give Karma whenever someone posts something particularly helpful, or, just because you like what they posted.

Or when they have the guts to ask questions.
Especially when they upload books.

Ahhh...hhmmm.... well, first, thanks all, for the warm welcome!

The karma thing seems a little silly to me, but harmless enough.

I appreciate everyone taking the time to respond to a newbie's inquiry!

Thx!

SILLY??? Oh, man, you haven't heard the half of it. Silly has it's own zip code here. No .... silly has it's own dimension here. Buckaroo Banzai was last seen there chasing Lectroids.

Has there ever been any thought to supporting negative karma? Rarely, but often enough, I read a post that makes me wish for that. Oops--hope I don't get negative karma for saying that!

Someone coined the phrase, KarmaLite, in another thread. I can't remember which one, though.

How about Anti-Karma! I'm afraid people might be a little too enthusiastic with the anti-karma button, though. I think it's better to stick with giving warm-fuzzies (karma) as opposed to cold-pricklies (anti-karma).

Me too!! Watched the movie and read the book so many times that I've lost count.

At one time I decided to memorize the names of all the Lectroids (first name being no problem, since they are all named "John").

Also memorized all the Kings of England (when I was in my mid twenties), just for fun starting with Alfred the Great. I also memorized the names of the royal houses (late nights in the lab or trying to keep your eyes open in the morgue - when that's the only quiet place to study) leads one to all sorts of fun memory games.

Of course the movie didn't come around until I started law school, but again, memory games, even unrelated ones, help me study. John Smallberries, John Ya Ya, John Worfin, John Bigboote (who really got pissed if anyone said "Big Booty").

I laughed out loud when I read your message. Big Booty! Why didn't Christopher Lloyd win an Oscar for that part?

I'm going to have to watch the movie again.

As you can see on the rest of the replies in this thread, silliness is the engine that runs this forum I, naturally, stand above all that and always try to bring some saneness (is that even a word?) here...
