Hello
Hi there,
I have just purchased a Sony eReader PRS-505 and am looking for ideas on how to manage content, best utilize the SD Card slot, and deal with unexpected behavior (duplicating of books at synch time). This looks like a great forum. Thanks! |

Hi Armaced and welcome to MobileRead. Just post your questions in the Sony 505 forum and you'll get quick and helpful answers. BTW, I've had a 505 for over a year and a half sand really like it

Welcome to the board! I love my 505. I had problems with the sync feature, and found out I could turn it off. that made all the difference. Now I control what gets moved and how. Go to Edit, preferences, and unclick both boxes. (I believe that's how) Then, instead of syncing, you will need to drag and drop the books you want into the sections you want. I find that much more user friendly.
I have an SD card that is always inserted (slows down use very slightly - it's not overly loaded- and supposedly drains battery power a bit faster- but I don't notice it). So I made collections on both my sony and the sd card. To make a collection, when your reader is highlighted, you click on the plus button on the bottom. then you name your new collection and drag whatever books you'd like in there, in the order you'd like them displayed. My knowledge is limited, and almost ends there, but hopefully it's a start! Be sure to join us on the 500/505 board , as cassidy said! |
