Hi Bowhuntxx78 and welcome to MobileRead. I felt the same way when I got my Sony 505. Now I can't imagine reading pBooks again.

Welcome to MR, benham (just in case I missed your hello)

And YES, YES, YES!! We have lots of beautifully and lovingly hand-formatted books here. Our book formatting members take pride in contributing the books to this site.

for ebooks for the Sony ...

Check out the blue bar up above this thread... click on ebooks.... and in the dropdown menu you can choose Sony (lrf) or the epub [we have more in lrf right now but, more and more are being uploaded in epub]

I'm not sure about the Palm TX does it use prc? mobi?

Check out everyone's avatars and their signature lines. We have authors that are very active participants in the main forums, writers' corner, and the deals, freebies, and resources forums.

Above all, just have fun and ask questions when you need to.

Hi dreams, I check a few out allready. Dedicated is right! Can't wait to spend some time there. The Palm TX uses ereader. They have their own operating system so none of the ebooks I have are compatible with any other reader. From what I have learned about mobi, it probably works with it.

Bowhuntxx if you get a DX maybe you will want to sell your 505?

I think I remember something about it using mobi with the right OS. It might be worth looking into so you can download mobi ebooks also.

I was checking out some ebooks yesterday and their various formats and mobi is supposed to work with Palm. But you still need to be able to hot sync it to the unit. Vista 64 bit has been out for over 1 1/2 years and STILL Palm does not have a program download for it. Now I do have an XP and so does my wife but gee whiz, they must be losing out on a ton of money. I used to think it was pretty special that some of my favorite authors are available on ebook but Palms selection isn't even close to what are offered my Kindle and Sony. The book I really want very soon is The Scarecrow by Michael Connelly. It's almost $30 from Palm! $9.99 on Kindle. There is something wrong with this picture

OK you are way more knowledgeable about this than I thought You should list that you also have the Sony and Kindle under your device section (also Vista 64 bit). When members are giving help, having that information allows for better instructions in the help given. (I found this out by the number of posts just asking for certain info in order to give help)

Have you tried checking the current bestsellers out from the library for your 505?

Gesh, how lucky that you have the best of all worlds in getting an ebook! Kindle, Sony, and Palm!

Welcome to the forums. I have had my 505 for a couple months now, and I LOVE it. I am so glad I went with the 505. One of my favorite things about it is that I can check FREE ebooks out from my library system and read them. You should check if your library system has this. You'd be able to read any pdf or epub format on the 505. Just thought I'd share that tip. Enjoy your 505!
