Speeding Up The Load Time of Scanned Books
I'm not sure if this hasn't been already mentioned before.
I was reading an old book from Google Books yesterday and noticed that page loading was very slow. Each time I turned the page it took like 5 seconds for the device to show it. As I learned a few minutes later this was caused by "Hide margins" option turned on. I guess the device was trying to find white space and remove it every time the page was turned. Because it was a poor quality scan this wasn't really possible. So if you ever have problems with a pages loading really slow turn off "Hide margins" (which is on by default) by tapping "Fit to screen" option. |
