Names of Voters Revealed when Using 'View Results'

Don't know if this is a bug, or just a behaviour I haven't realised was there before.

It's showed up on at least two polls.

Click on "View Poll Results" before voting and the names of those who've voted are clearly shown.

After voting, this behavious no longer occurs.

it's not a bug, it's a feature !! (no, really !

) that only happens when the poll creator specifies they are making a public poll, where results can be seen. you can see the names after you vote as well, if you click on one of the numbers of the results column.

And I thought it was all hush-hush secret type stuff. I thought I was going mad there for a second.

i'm not saying that's not also a possibility.

it's just unrelated to polls. well, probably. then again...

If you know you can check before voting, but for new users this might not be the case. I'd recommend to anyone creating a poll that they probably should mention if they are making it public or private. Some issues like DRM, copyright, filesharing, or forum related issues might not feel comfortable with their votes known.

And no worries, no poll starter or mod/admin tries to deceive anyone to 'out' them, it is simply a feature of the forum software.

you are actually advised of this before you vote : the poll will be labelled something like "be aware this is a public poll ; other users will be able to see your vote." i'm paraphrasing from memory, but it is mentioned.
