That's cool. I doubt I would enjoy reading on my DS overly much but hey if it makes amazon and sony be a bit more competitive with there price points I'm all for it. Thanks for the post.

There have been eBook readers on the DS for a long time now. Check the wiki.

I think my DS screen is too small to find reading enjoyable but I heard the DSi screens are much bigger (iPod touch size). Can anyone confirm if the screen is as big as the iPod/iPhone? If so then maybe some people may find it comfortable. I only use the Touch for short reads as it is too uncomfortable for me and my bad eyes to read for long periods.

Those are homebrew programs. This is officially from Nintendo.
