Greetings from Canada.
I got my Sony 505s for Christmas and I absolutely love it. I wasn't sure I would but I love the fact that I can take a mini library with my everywhere I go. I saw the Kindle on Oprah origianlly and wanted that but wouldn't trade my sony for anything. I'm looking to get the light for it so I am able to read it at night or in the car. I have the AC adapter for it but I don't find it works very well. This is a wonderful spot to find any questions I have on my sony and just to see what everyone else is reading. HAPPY READING ![]() ![]() |

Hi christy, I also have a 505 and love it! With all the free books available here I definitely have about a year's reading on it now.
If you're looking for a light then this thread might help ... but I'm sure there are lots of other threads in the Sony forum about lights. Ruth |

Hi christy and welcome to MobileRead.
Many PRS-505 owners use the light wedge and seem happy with it and others have gone to a less expensive clip-on solution as suggested by ruth. If you have any other questions, just ask. Again, welcome to MR from Vancouver. WetDogEared |

Hi christy and welcome to MobileRead. When you say your AC Adapter isn't working well, what is the problem? I have one and it seems to work fine. Perhaps Sony sold you a defective one.

I think so too. It charges ok, but when you go to use it, it is very slow. I end up having to reset my e reader every time. I'm taking it back to Sony and see what they say. Other than that I love everything about it.

Hi Christy,
Welcome to the forums. I have had my 505 for about 2 months now and I got the lightwedge soon after. I love my 505 and, though I should've waited awhile to buy an ereader, I am so happy to find one. I enjoy reading contemporary Fiction and Romance and have loved all the free books from eharlequin and the library. Hope you enjoy your reader! |

Oops, don't know how to do link. Here's the post: "I ended up picking up the MightyBright ExtraFlex2 light yesterday and I think my dreams have come true. I really love my 505 now!!! I used the light in bed while my husband slept and the light didn't bother him a bit. My old stand alone Lightwedge did and he commented when I tried the Sony Cover/Lightwedge that it was like a searchlight beacon in the room. I clipped the MightyBright ExtraFlex2 light on the top right corner of the cover, pointed the light towards the left to illuminate the screen, and used the lower of the 2 light settings - PERFECTION!! The neck is long and flexible enough to move so that there is absolutely no glare on the page. Very happy with my choice of reader, light and current ebook!" |
