PRS-950 Infrequent jumps ahead??

Only infrequently but still annoying, my 950 sometimes will suddenly jump ahead quite a few pages while I am reading. I don't know how many pages nor what makes it happen.

I have to turn back numerous pages to find where I was when the reader skipped ahead.

This doesn't happen when the reader is off. After being off, it always comes on to the correct page.

Is there any information available on this issue e.g. what happens, what causes it, how to cure, etc., etc.?

I have seen the same thing with a library book I borrowed recently just before the 650 firmware update. It seemed to act like the flip forward where you swipe and then hold to fast forward. I haven't seen it again yet but I haven't been reading lately.

Sorry your 950 is having issues, Pete. Does it jump forward in pages like 1,2,3...10 or from 1 directly to 10? Have you cleaned the edge of the screen recently like maybe some dust or pet hair is trapped that is randomly disrupting the sensors?

B, I don't believe it is a progression, just an immediate jump to a new page that is forward (never back). The jump was more than 10 pages, I'm quite sure.

It seemed to happen today when I touched the very edge of the right side of the screen/glass but I guess that could have been a coincidence or my imagination.

I have never cleaned the screen other than wiping it with a soft cloth occasionally and had not done that today other than normal removal of particles that might appear.

As I said before, this issue, thus far at least, is VERY infrequent and does not rise to the level of impacting my appreciation of my 950.

D, I didn't know about this swipe and hold feature.

I know you can hold down the buttons to proceed automatically backward and forward.
