Howdy

Just got my Kindle 2. Looking good so far. Unit works great but I think it's going to take me awhile to get use to reading books on it. Books just "feel" right and the Kindle doesn't but I imagine I'll learn to like it.

Welcome to MobileRead, Elderberry! If you're like the rest of us, you'll probably reach up to the top corner to turn the page a couple of times before you remember you're not reading on paper.

I've had my Reader for over a year and think it's one of the best investments I ever made. Paper books feel odd now. I keep forgetting that there isn't a page turn button.

Hi Mike and welcome to MobileRead. I've had my eBook reader for over a year now and it feels very natural to me. Fact is, a print book now feels a little odd.

Hello elderberry and welcome to MobileRead. I've had a Kindle (1) since February 2008 and have enjoyed having it very much. Yesterday, I started reading Tea Time for the Traditionally Built by Alexander McCall Smith. It's the first book I've read on my Kindle since I finished reading The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson on 6 March. In the meantime, I've read 18 paper books in an attempt to catch up with some of the books I owe to people in my book swapping group. I've *missed* my Kindle and have been so happy to get back to using it.

As Dreamer noted, sometimes when I pick up a paper book, I have to give a good think at the beginning to remind myself that I don't have a page turn button beside my left thumb. Wreaks havoc with one-handed reading!

We're glad you've joined us and hope you hang around and get involved in the discussions.

I've read hundreds of books on my sony in the past (almost) 6mo, and I still sometimes reach over to turn the page. You'll get used to it, most likely!

Congrats on your new purchase!
