Quick Question about Subscription on these forums

Hi Everyone,

Even though I've been registered in these forums for a bit now, I'm still learning to navigate through it. I was wondering is there anyway I can set up my account so that I'm not auto subcribed to everything I post in? Or atleast change the default notification from weekly to none?

Scroll up a little and click on User CP. It's under "edit options".

yes, you can easily do this (i know, those emails get out of hand fast, don't they !). go to your user control panel (link in the blue nav bar at the top of the page). in the menu on the left, select "edit options". there you can modify the default thread subscription mode. in the user cp, you can also see your subscribed threads, and using the dropdown menu at the end of the list modify your subscription choice.

Thanks, I've been fighting with this ever since I joined. Never could find the setting for it - I'm blind, I guess.

Well if you are, so am I. I've been registered since Nov. 2007 and only found it now with the help of Nate and Zelda. Hope that makes you feel better.

This will work for all new threads. But you will probably get a residuum of older subscribed threads in your inbox for a while.

this is true, although you can change the options for previously subscribed threads as well (in the "subscribed threads" portion of the user cp) but you will have to modify them all individually. for older, less active threads, this may not be really necessary.
