Cute Story: How Bob The Millionaire Became a Pirate

I hear people complain and argue all the time about how studios are forcing people to pirate. It's definitely not a clear cut and simple issue, and people are writing about it all the time. But no one on either side has made it this "cute" before!

How Bob The Millionaire Became a Pirate

Winning the hearts and minds of the people on this issue (and therefore shaping the law) is how I think this will be determined. With all the creative skills and resources on the motion picture and recording artist side of the world, one has to wonder why they aren't making use of it to sway our opinions. How about a few blockbusters with messages about content piracy? Hollywood has never shyed away from a message before.

But what I'd really like to see is Mark Cuban use his resources to make some clever multimedia spots on the side of "DRM is stupid, and stop treating your customers like criminals." How about it Mark!? You could even simply host it on your website and it will spread like wildfire!

Heh that's funny. A very good point, too... as long as ABC & Co. cry about their loss in revenues, that won't do anything to solve problem about Internet piracy. Instead of bribing governments to put all evil pirates on death row, they should instead use their precious time to invent new technologies that embrace the Net.

Oil of course. He is from Norway and they have more oil than USA these days.

For me who lives in neighbouring Sweden and suffers from the exact same problems as he does (when it comes to this. I have no oil so I don't have a problem not knowing what to spend my money on). The discussions raises lots of good points. I would pay to watch Lost at the same time as my friends in USA. I know its not a right to watch it at the same time but it sure as hell makes my social life with Americans better since we can discuss actual events. So why doesn't anyone say the same about news? News is published all over the net and there is large corporations that wants to make money of news. If you read something on AP and then publish it on your website, isn't that stealing too? AP have people employed that have kids and bills and stuff too. People don't have any problems copying news because everyone feels like that is public domain but in the end there is people that actually reports these events, creates them if you will (and some are more "created" than others.
