DRM and lrx

Is there a tool to remove the DRM protection from the lrx books bought from the Sony Connect Store? If so, could you point me to it?
Thanks

Thanks.
If you really want DRM free eBooks, purchase your eBooks in a format that can have the DRM removed and then convert.

That's exactly what went through my mind after igorsk answered my question.
I was about to buy a Brad Thor thriller so I went to Powell's and bought the LIT version. Convert Lit seemed to work fine. libprs500 made it a lrf book and sent it to the 505. Started to read and it looks fine. I lost the Table of Contents (was in a separate html file) but the cover was there.

I'm leaning.
Thank you all

What you can do with lit2lrf is use the OPF file as the source file with the --use-spine option and then you will also have the ToC.

lit2lrf ???
Is that in libprs500? If not, where?
I don't see a "use-spine" option in libprs500.

I have included all the files from ConvertLit into a ZIP and loaded the zip into libprs500.

I have seen lit2lrf mentioned and searched (turned up lots of results) but I never found an exe file.

It's a command-line part of libprs500 - have a look in C:\"Program Files"\libprs500\

Thanks, found it, now all I have to do is track down the command line options. I'm sure they're buried in here somewhere.

I've come to the conclusion that if I keep fooling around, not really knowing what I'm doing, eventually I'll stumble on something.

I double clicked on the opf file. It opened up Mobipocket Creator. There were the two html files (the one with the TOC). I created the prc file and ran that through libprs500 and out came by Sony book with the TOC. Looks OK on a quick glimpse.

Code:
html2lrf --top-margin=0 --bottom-margin=0 --left-margin=0 --right-margin=0 --wordspace=1.5 --base-font-size=10 --use-spine filename.opf
That's all you need to do and it'll work.

While Jon's given his preferred settings, just run it without any arguments to see the list of the possible args & their descriptions, so you can see what they mean.

Thank you Jon & Gwyn, I'm giving it a try.

Well, I tried it. Keep getting the error "this does not appear to be a LIT file".

Something I'm doing wrong, I'm sure - but, anyway, using the Mobipocket Creator seemed to be a bit easier (yes, an extra step) and worked fine now on two lit conversions so I'll stay with that for a while.

You should be running:

Code:
lit2lrf book.lit
That is, run it directly on the LIT file.

lit2lrf currently uses ConvertLIT to extract the contents of a LIT file[1]. If you don't have ConvertLIT somewhere lit2lrf can find it, then you can run it yourself first, then run html2lrf with the --use-spine option:

Code:
clit book.lit book/
html2lrf --use-spine book/book.opf
Hope this helps!

[1] Yes, yes -- I agreed to fix that... Easily distracted. :-)

Yes, helps, didn't work all the way through it but I'll stay with Mobicreator. It's very easy that way and I don't have to drop into DOS and play with cd, dir or move files around. I know, I'm lazy.
