I'm baaaaaaack!

Hi friends,
Just thought I would post to let everyone know that I am back from my read fest. My husband returns today from his 9 day golf trip and things will return to normal. I will have to go back to cooking meals, cleaning the house and putting down my 505 so I can talk with him. It has been a nice break from the daily routine but I am ready to have him back.
I'm not sure if I mentioned this before but I even took two and a half days off from work while he was gone just to do whatever. What did I do you ask? I read of course! I know I've said this many times before but I LOVE this thing. I would probably cut off my right arm and let you have it before I would give you my reader! Thats an exaggeration I know but I would really have to think twice about it. As I've said before, I always use things for awhile then lose interest in them, I just don't see that happening with this.
I wanted to mention that if you are into romance novels I read one that I really enjoyed. Its called His Lady Mistress by Elizabeth Rolls.

Happy Reading!

Missed you! But probably not as much as you missed him!

If you are a romance gal, make sure to get all of the free Harlequin's at Fictionwise or Sony. It was a Valentine's Day promotion, but they still offer all 16 books for free.

Glad to have you back from your "read-fest"!

I wasn't sure if it was a whim or not, either
when I was looking at ereaders but so far
I have thoroughly enjoyed my 505. I think
even hubby feels it was worth it (he bought
it for me!)

I've had my 505 since January 08 and still enjoy it as much now as I did when it was new. You won't get bored especially if you're an addicted reader like the rest of us here.

I haven't gotten to His Lady Mistress yet, either. I have so many books on my TBR pile, it's ridiculous.

I'll let you in on a little secret of the e-publishing business. I own an e-publishing company and we do a lot of market research. One of the biggest reasons romance readers have adopted the e-book so completely is because with e-books, it's easier to hide their reading habits from their husbands. A lot of men give their wives/girlfriends crap about the huge piles of romance novels they have lying around the house, but with e-books, there is no "visual pile" that a man can point at and gripe about.

Glad you had such a great "vacation", Stacey.

I think the same applies for men and science fiction. I was always a bit wary of reading a lot of sci-fi books in front of my wife (especially the ones with lurid covers), but now she says she hasn't a clue what I'm reading, or indeed how many books I'm getting through = how much money I'm burning up. I just have to keep her away from my Fictionwise account

LOL I am an avid romance reader. I still have quite a huge pile of regular books...I actually just bought 3 books yesterday because I couldn't wait for them to be released as ebooks. But I LOVE my e-reader and I've only had it 2 days. I'm sure in time my collection will become more e-books than regular books.

Yes, I will admit that I love to read my romance books! When Sony had the free ones in February I downloaded them but didn't have my reader yet. I wanted to be prepared!
I used to read them ALL the time years ago and then with life I just got away from reading them. Now I tell my husband I HAVE to read them since I don't get much romance from him! (After 26 years what can you expect?!) I have to tease him a little, he would think I was sick if I didn't!

Have a great weekend everyone!
