I got to see the latest thing in SneakerNet. College students having "hard drive parties".

Getting together for beer, music, and fun while cross syncing everybody's portable hard drives. No internet required.....

This article is why I think copyright is doomed long-term. For all the heavy hitters in the copyright biz, there are now active, organized counter lobbyist's. It's no longer a one way lobby, like the old days....

They can't win this war, because even when they think they've won, when they extend copyrights for a 1,000 years and have armed police breaking down your door if you whistle Happy Birthday, there'll be so many alternatives you won't have to bother with "their" copyright any more. Creative Commons is and will produce some fine works, and without any of the hassles these Mega-Corps have introduced. Buh-bye old world, hello the Digital Age! The sooner the better.
