New Ebooke

After much contemplation, I ordered my brand new Sony prs-505 in Midnight Blue....I should have it in my hot little hands on about 3-5 days...I've already began my search for ebooks I will want to read ASAP. I can tell this is going to be delightful. Of course, the second thing I had to do was search for a forum or group, since I love talking to others who share my interests.

I look forward to talking to everyone and getting to know you all. I will write in when I have my reader in hand.

Thanks! I sure will. I'm still scoping out ebook sites since this is all very new to me. One of the perks of the sony for me was that it accepts pdf files and my library has free e-books for download, so I will definitely taking advantage of that.

I borrow eBooks from the Fairfax (VA) library in ADE format. You get to keep them for 21 days at the end of which they disappear off your reader.

AbFabGab is right. You can turn in ADE books early.

And, at least at the Fairfax library, you can put your name on a waiting list for a book and you have four days to download it once it's your turn

Thanks to everyone for your help. My e-reader should be arriving on 3/25. I have been looking for some different sites where I can buy ebooks. It's a bit confusing because not all of them say epub or bbeb or pdf...some of them have Microsoft Reader, Adobe Reader, etc. So I'm still unsure if those will work.

My library has a lending library as well, but I will check out the lending library that was mentioned. Is there a charge for that? And do I have to be a resident of the state of VA?

There's actually 3 new releases that I'm waiting for in April, and those will be my first official e-books. I can't wait.

There is a link at the top of the board with lots of information about libraries that have ebooks available. You can click to find out what is charged for each library. I download anything that's PDF at my library. Enjoy your new reader!
