Two calibre pending issues

Hi. I'm running Calibre on OSX. I have to longstanding issues and was wondering if workarounds had been developed. First, if Calibre is running and I plug in the reader I have to get out of Calibre and then run it again for it to see that the reader is connected. Second, news feed downloads still bomb the reader. Any plans to pre-format the prs/epub the say that the Sony software does? Thanks.

or the first issue post any logs from console.app

the seconf issue should be fixed if you switch your outpu format to epub

Wow. Just tried the EPUB format. It seems like you have really worked out the kinks. It used to have some glitches with the feeds back when I used it a few dozen versions ago. It now works very fast and without glitches.

Is there any way to set the smallest font size in the EPUB conversion a little larger? Baby bear too small, moma bear too large.

Is there any way to set conversion LRF for books and EPUB for feeds?

post the result of running calibre-debug -d in Terminal.app when this problem happens.

No you cant specify different formats for different things and you cant (yet) set the base font size for news downloads

hi I tried adding in the line html2epub_options = ['--base-font-size', '14'] into my recipies for epub feeds; the news fetch wouldn't complete as per the current version

Ok. New prob. I tried to run calibre-debug -d per your instructions and got:

Mac:~ jd$ calibre-debug -d
Traceback (most recent call last):

os.execv(loader_path, sys.argv)
OSError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory
Mac:~ jd$

I am running version 4.141 and the latest OSX.

Nope. Just tried again and checked the app force kill list just in case.

I don't know if this makes a difference but I don't have Calibre installed in Applications. I have it installed in a folder called E-book Tools.

ah try moving it into a folder that does not have spaces in its name

That did it.

The debug finds the PRS505. The GUI still does not until it is restarted.

thanks for the html2epub_options = 'base_font_size2="14" ' tip; now i can read my news in the same font as my novels; awesome!
